New Music * Venue Search

Dear Folks,

I've begun harvesting the fruit of my musical summer. I have a short piece to share with you which embodies this late-summer energy. I've been busy with the sounds of bells, drums, synthesizers, and my voice. The piano keyboard is the main axe, along with the looper. (See below)

This is the sort of music I can see myself playing out more. My experience with the Duncan Farmer's Market was mixed. Most people seemed to be positively affected by the vibes brought to the square. A couple of people were upset, and they passed their comments along to the manager. I received a call from him, and we decided that between my integrity and the captive audience, the best thing was to let the gig go.

I take this in stride. I see this music as medicine. I sit down each day and open to music. I let myself be transformed. Incredible shifts are happening for me. Some days, all I can do is cry and scream. Tears of sadness, tears of joy. Other days, I feel a peace like I have never felt before.

As I take this approach out into my community, it's bound to stir people up. It will not be everyone's cup of tea.

I offer these first fruit to you in hopes that you will join me around the tree as we let grace do the work in us- fruit falling and bursting open on us, spilling their life-giving juices in an alchemy of rhythm, melody, song & dance.

I am looking at possible venues where I can share this music and collaborate. All of you- I want to experience your gifts. I see the potential for a cauldron space, a sacred space where each of you brings yourself-- gold, glory and guts-- and we practice healing arts together. I want to work together. Each of you has talents that are important. And wisdom to bring to the circle. And some baggage, some sand in your oyster shell from which your pearls grow. So we can help one another.

Smile

Oh Ripe Fruit,
