Resounding
We live at the edge of a great ocean. Beneath the humdrum of daily life, a mysterious inner world guides us. All that is joyous and connected begins here. And all that is painful and disconnected begins here, too. Yet it is a world we know little about.
What is going on in my feelings? Why does the tall mountain inspire me? How do doubt and fear sabotage me?
To get around in the inner world, I have a horse. Music is my horse. Each feeling is a sound. When I make sounds that are true to how I feel, music begins to guide me. That's how I move from disconnection to connection. I sing my pain, until it becomes joy. I sing into the forest, until my indifference becomes awe, and I am moved to tears. This is my daily practice of intuitive singing.

Resounding is an introduction to intuitive singing. Gentle practices guide you into your voice, in a safe and non-judgmental environment. It's a place to honor how you are feeling today, and to be honored. There's lots of room to make sounds spontaneously. We work in partners to build trust.
Our sounds begin to merge. The whole group is singing, but there is no script! New levels of awareness, and new depths of connection are possible here.
It takes skill. What sounds are in your palette, and what effect do they have on the energy? How can we support each other with rhythm and harmony? How can you stay authentic to yourself, while at the same time joining in? Where is the right balance between listening and sounding?
Can we find a place where many breaths become one, and where many hearts beat together?
Resounding is a place to explore and discover the ancient power of music. It's within you.
All levels of experience are welcome. I aim to facilitate your journey into your voice, regardless of your background or experience.
RESOUNDING CLASS IS ON HOLD FOR THE FALL. . . :)
Resounding Earth

In the Resounding Earth class, we take our basic groups skills and energy into the forest and up the mountain. This class focuses on our connection with the Earth. We practice sensing and trusting our connection with the Earth. We go on wilderness adventures, with an eye to safety, risk, physical challenge, and teamwork. Throughout our adventures, we tune into the "spirit of a place". We sound and sing the land, first as individuals, and then as a group. We get connected with life's elemental energies, found in mountains and caves, rivers and oceans. We tune into the season and the time of day. Spring, summer, winter and fall; Dusk, dawn, night, and noon-- each with their own rhythms. We listen for this music, and learn to lead song and dance from the Earth. |

(Men's intuitive singing circle)
What happens when you stop to hear your heart drumming, your breath piping, your balls rumbling? Do you become more in tune with what pulses within you? Do you become more alive?
What happens when you release all ideas of 'how to sing', judgments, and fears? Do you find yourself at the edge of a volcano- aware of some primal sound, and ready to make it?
What happens when your sounds are heard by your brothers, and when we come calling back to you? Do you hear our different voices coming together into a single living whole? Do you feel more connected?
I INVITE YOU MEN to join in circle TO GET POWERFULLY CONNECTED. Connect to your guts, to your heart, to your joy, your anger, and your love. Take a breath inwards, and then let it sing out, to find resonance among your brothers. Sing whatever is real for you in the moment. We will hold you and witness you, and join with you to create transformative sound.
Within a safe container, we work with Spirit & Skill, Rhythm & Resonance. You are offered practices to get you into spontaneous sound. We sound together, creating group orchestras, exploring partner resonances, and flying solo.
Come experience your own voice, held sacred and belonging
in community.
All levels of experience are welcome.
